GUASNR Organization

Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources(GUASNR) is a Public University acting under the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. A comprehensive structure has been established to manage university and important decisions are made by a Multilayer system including the Board of Trustees, University Council, Administrative Council and the Board of quality assessment. All these decisions making bodies help the president of the University to Achieve these goals.

    All universities and higher education institutes located in Golestan province including GUASNR, Golestan University and Gonbad University have a common Board of trustees.This board is approved by Cultural Revolution Council. The Board of Trustees is the highest position in the University and determines the future educational development, financial planning and other major plans of the University. Initial examination of the proposals is scheduled in the Permanent Commission of the Board of Trustees. 

The members of he Board of Trustees for Golestan Province are:

1- The Minister of Science, Research and Technology acting as chair of the Board.

2- The President of three Universities located in the Golestan Province.

3- 4 to 6 distinguished scientific or academic members of the country who the will have significant influence in the development of the university.

4- The president or the vice president of the Management and Planning organization.

The university council is another decision making body to develop the policies of the university and promote position of the university. This council consists of the president as chair, four vice presidents, Students and cultural Affairs VP, Research and Technology VP, Administration and Financial VP and academic Affairs VP, Dean of Faculties, three members from research, Educational and Graduate council, and two distinguished academic members who are elected by the university president. The mail duties and responsibilities of the university council are:

1- Evaluation and confirmation of new educational programs and suggestion to the ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

2- Determination of educational and research priorities of the university.

3- Approving internal rules and regulations for the university councils and affiliated centers.

4- Developing new methods for effective cooperation with cultural and educational officials at other organizations and institutes.

5- Discussing regarding the admission of students in each department according to the development plans and university.

  Administrative council is the highest executive body of the University consist of the president of the University as chair and his four vice presidents including Students and Cultural affairs VP, Research and Technology VP, Administration and Financial VP and Academic Affairs VP.

  Board of quality assessment has been formed to assess the promotion of the current academic members and to evaluate the performance of the academic staff in terms of educational and research affairs. This Board consists of the university President, Academic Affairs vice President, Research and Technology Vice-President 10 distinguished members of the academic staff holding the positions of Professor or Associate Professor.
