Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources ranked 651st in the world with 93 places and 20th in Iran with 7 places compared to 2021. 4365 universities from all over the world and 155 universities from Iran participated in this ranking. In addition, the university was ranked 53rd in the Middle East in the aforementioned ranking. According to this ranking, the university ranks 346th in the world in the field of agricultural and life sciences and 5th in Iran.

The university ranked first in Iran in the fields of Food Science and Fisheries, and first and second in these fields in the Middle East.

The SCImago ranking is a classification of academic and research-related institutions that is measured using three indicators: research (50%), innovation output (30%) and social impact (20%). In this regard, compared to 2021, the university improved by 23 places in research, 89 places in innovation and one place in social.
