Today, the Department has 10 academic members and staff who train about 250 undergraduate and graduate students. There are three laboratories including animal ad poultry nutrition, Bee Laboratory and microbiology for teaching and conducting research projects. There are two experimental farms covering around 20 hectares and other required facilities, one in about 5 kilometers to the west of the university and the other one in Aqqala township, about 50 kilometers to the north of the university. The academic staffs are also trying to equip a modern laboratory for teaching and research projects. The facilities host students of animal science for research and educational purposes.
