Plant Protection
The Department of Plant Protection is one of the most active departments under the Faculty of Plant Production at the Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (GUASNR). The department was established in 1994. Initially, the department offered BSc in Plant Protection. However, to keep pace with the advancement of science, need of farmers and demand of the market, two different fields of Plant Protection, Plant Pathology (MS.c., Ph.D.) and Agricultural Entomology (MS.c., Ph.D.), were introduced. The Department is equipped with ten laboratories such as labs of Plant Pest (teaching lab), Entomological Research, Biological Control, Toxicology and Physiology, Insect and Mite Systematic, Plant Diseases (teaching lab), Mycological Research, Bacteriology, Nematology and Virology. At the moment, the department has 10 academic members in different fields of Plant Protection.
